Thanks to the gracious Anna Miller for including me among these clearly superior mixologists and bloggers… A quick roundup today of news and ephemera about cocktails (read: I’m feeling crushing guilt that I haven’t posted in a while, so here, happy?!) Amazon says buyers of my book also dig Randy Newman. On plus side, these folks also buy a how-to sex book (mercifully unrelated to Randy Newman). Finally, a solution to the age-old conundrum [...] Nifty (if troubling) piece in Slate looking at whether grapes are the proverbial canaries in the coalmine for global warming. Holy smokes, I may have misjudged these folks. Undeserved but much appreciated praise for my book from uber-foodies at Smorgasbite Blackleaf Premium Organic Vodka is apparently coming this summer… from France. Now, I’m a fan of vodka – don’t get me wrong – but how about some more organic gins, rums, etc.? Pretty please. And what’s with the curious cache of vodkas produced in France? What’s good for the GreyGoose is good for…? The New York Times heralds the return of the bar cart in one of its I-found-three-people-who-are-doing-it-so-it’s-a-trend features (wait, I use that gambit all the time!). I’ll cop to wanting such a contraption, but with bottles crammed in just about every cabinet in the house except the bathroom (yet), I’m going to need the equivalent of Jerr-Dan. Still, [...] |
